Guided Fly Fishing On Lake Taneycomo, The White River and The Norfork Tailwater

Trips Tailored to Your Abilities

Each trip is customized to cater to the respective angler's ability level and desires. Novice anglers can request their trip be tailored as an on-water lesson. These trips will focus on teaching casting mechanics, safe wading techniques, basic fly selection, and how to read the water. This type of trip is the perfect way to minimize the learning curve for beginners. And, of course, you will have ample opportunities to catch trout.

Our Guiding Philosophy

My business revolves around customer satisfaction. Everyone who experiences a great day on the water with me is likely to pursue fly fishing at a higher level. It is very gratifying to witness the transformation of a fledgling angler as they become more proficient with a fly rod. The bottom-line is: enjoyment is the primary objective of each outing.  A guide trip with Taneycomo Trout revolves around catching as many fish as possible, while always keeping learning objectives in mind. We place an emphasis on proficient casting, but our approach is laid-back. A guide trip with Taneycomo Trout will greatly enhance the fly fishing knowledge of beginners and accomplished anglers alike.

***When flows exceed the two-unit level on upper Lake Taneycomo, and it looks like moderate to heavy water is likely all day, I would prefer to just offer half-day trips. This change in policy is reflective of the fact that there are only three good spots accessible by drift boat during really high water. My intention is to help anglers make the most of their time, and stretching out a whole day over-working the few islands and current breaks available is not the most fun way to experience this wonderful fishery. When the water is running high and fast, the best holding water can be effectively covered in less than four hours. It is possible to book two half-day trips in succession if you want to fish all day on Taneycomo during heavy flows – when this option is taken, rates will be adjusted, and the total cost will not exceed that of a typical full-day trip (except maybe a slight adjustment for gas and two shuttles). Please read this article that explains in depth why I have chosen to only do half-day trips during extreme conditions on Lake Taneycomo.

We offer $50 off the total accrued guide fees on multi-day bookings of two and three-person (wade only) guide trips on Lake Taneycomo, the White and the Norfork Tailwater. This discount is meant to contribute towards logistical expenses.

Night Fishing on Lake Taneycomo

Night trips are 4 hours in duration and begin one hour after the water shuts down at Table Rock Dam. Outings typically start between 10pm to 12am.

1 angler: $225

2 anglers: $275

Three person night trips are not available at this time. Coffee, hot chocolate, water, flies and snacks will be provided. Rates are prorated if an unexpected water release shortens the trip, but this rarely occurs in the middle of the night.

Taneycomo Trout On-stream Skills Workshop

This full-day class will consist of ten students who want to learn everything that they can about the White River Basin trout fisheries from an on-the-water perspective. Jeremy will always be the primary instructor, but he may utilize a partner at times. The classes will be finalized after a minimum of seven participants have committed. The first of these workshops is scheduled to be held either on Saturday March 6th or Saturday March 13th, 2010. For more information and pricing, visit the Programs Page. These workshops are a great way to gain intimate knowledge of the Ozark coldwater trout streams at a very low price of $60 per person.
