How To Tie Micro Egg Pattern
Recipe:
Hook: Tiemco 2457, 16 or smaller Thread: Uni- Thread 6/0, red Yarn: McFly Foam, early girl
Step 1.
Start with two pieces of McFly Foam that are approx. 2 inches long.
Step 2.
Dress your hook with thread.
Step 3. Tie one piece of fly foam onto the opposite side of the hook from where you are sitting.
Step 4.
Tie a post around the base of the foam.
Step 5.
Before clinching the foam, move it to the side of the hook. You are basically creating a wing out of the foam when the fly is done.
Step 6. The next three steps are the mirror of what was done to secure the foam on the other side of the hook.
Step 7. Now you have the perfect “wing”.
Step 8. Carefully cut the base of each “wing”, trying to be as equal with both cuts.
Step 9.
A perfect egg emerges that can easily be tied to a #18 or #20 hook.
