Jeremy Hunt's shiwing casting demostration
Teaching a casting clinic at Taneycomo

Owner and operator of Taneycomotrout.com Web site and Guide Service along with Flys and Guides, a business dedicated to fly tying, fly sales and training prospective guides to join the team.

Jeremy has been a fly fishing guide in the Ozarks for over eleven years, and he is one of the few area professionals who takes his clients on Lake Taneycomo in Missouri along with the White River and Norfork Tailwater in Arkansas. While most of the area guides focus on just one or two pieces of water, Jeremy knows the best spots on three of the country’s best fisheries, which allows him to go to the most productive areas based on the daily water conditions. This offers Jeremy’s clients the chance to fish all the most productive stretches of water. Jeremy has also been exploring several other free-flowing trout streams in the region – The North Fork of the White River and the Eleven Point River – these two spots are often overlooked and fish very well during the fall when the big tailwaters are often subject to low oxygen levels and sluggish trout. No matter how or where you want to fly fish, Jeremy and his guide team at Taneycomo Trout have you covered.

When the rivers have been running high for extended periods of time, Jeremy and the guides he works with utilize motorized river boats, but for the most part, anglers who go on a trip with Jeremy will fish out of a beautiful, over-sized drift boat that is perfect for either drift fishing or as a conveyance to get to unpressured wading spots when the water is low - Jeremy is ready for whatever conditions and angling opportunities come his way.

Besides being one of the area’s premier guides, Jeremy is also a passionate fly tier who ties commercially during the slow times of late fall and early winter. He also conducts an extensive free fly tying class once a month at the hatchery in Branson, and this is just one way that Jeremy gives back to the sport he loves through education. He is also active in a myriad of conservation causes, and his busy Web site is the perfect place for him to express opinions aimed at making the rivers he loves even better.

Although nymph fishing is often the most productive method to catch trout in the Ozarks, Jeremy also loves to use big streamers to go after huge browns or utilize subtle presentations with dry flies. Also, Jeremy has had several of his personal patterns picked up by Rainey’s Flies, an industry wholesaler, and this is an honor that very few in the sport of fly fishing ever receive. It took a lot of hard work to get to this point, which reflects his determination, creativity and outside the box mentality. On rivers where conditions are known to change in a heartbeat, he is one of the few guides with a “full bag of tricks” which enables him to stay several steps ahead of the status quo. Jeremy has lived on the banks of the White River and Lake Taneycomo for almost fifteen years, so he has pretty much seen it all with respect to water conditions and he takes great pride in his adaptability.

There are literally dozens of choices when it comes to finding a guide to take you or your group out on Lake Taneycomo, The White River and the Norfork Tailwater, and Jeremy respects those who avidly do their research with respect to this important decision. His ear is always receptive to any questions you may have, and he will help you plan the perfect Ozark trout fishing adventure with objectivity and patience. There is a lot of ‘hype’ in this area, but if you are looking for someone who loves to teach, pursue big fish when possible and have a great time on the water, Jeremy Hunt is the guide to choose.
