Roaring River
Roaring River is a tributary to the Table Rock Lake section of the White River in Missouri. The lower part of Roaring River is spring fed and managed as a trout park by the Missouri Department of Conservation. This means that during trout season anglers must pay $3 for a daily tag and they can keep five rainbows. Roaring River has three zones: one where anything goes, one for artificial‘s, and a fly only section. There is also a small catch and release area. Dry flies work very well, and the fish here are surprising pretty and strong (compared to other trout parks). Caddis and midges are the dominant hatches. Egg patterns, wooly's, and nymphs are also productive. The dynamics in this spring creek type of setting are perfect for learning how to sight fish. There is a weekend, winter catch and release season. This can be a blast and the crowds are light. Call for more information.
