Several outfitters off of Arkansas State Highway 14 offer canoe rental and shuttle services. There is no other Ozark Mountain river that gives fly anglers such a beautiful glimpse into what the White River and Norfork looked like before the construction of Bull Shoals and Norfork Dams.”
The Buffalo is a long and winding tributary of the White. As much known for flooding as fishing, this rivers is actually a mystical, beautiful place stuck in time. There are many float opportunities, primarily run by outfitters on Highway 14 South out of Yellville. Water flows fluctuate on this river due to runoff, so always pay attention if rains get heavy. There is some walk-in access, but this river is best experienced by floating. Smallmouth and largemouth dominate, and as you get close to the White, there are some trout.
